Although Kerry's all time favorite group is Pearl Jam (Black her favorite song) this song by Linkin Park speaks to her heart & mine.

Linkin Park's latest album is totally awesome - all of it!
A Thousand Suns was released Sept. 2010, and soon after  Kerry asked me to listen to "Waiting For The End"  - ever since, it's been my favorite too.

They have the music video of Waiting for the End here:

 Waiting For The End
          This is not the end
          This is not the beginning
Just a voice like a riot
             Rocking
every revision
But you listen to the tone
         And the violent rhythm
            Though the words sound steady
            Something emptys within 'em.

         We say yeah!
With fists flying up in the air
Like we’re holding onto something that’s invisible there
Cuz we’re living at the mercy of the pain and the fear
Until we dead it -  forget it
                     Let it all disappear...

Waiting for the end to come
Wishing I had strength to stand
This is not what I had planned
                       It’s out of my control-

Flying at the speed of light
Thoughts were spinning in my head.
So many things were left unsaid
It’s hard to let you go...

I know what it takes to move on
I know how it feels to lie -
All I wanna do is trade this life for something new-
Holding on to what I haven’t got!
           Sitting in an empty room
           Trying to forget the past
This was never meant to last
           I wish it wasn’t so...

What was left when that fire was gone
I thought it felt right but that right was wrong
All caught up in the eye of the storm
And trying to figure out what it’s like moving on

And I don’t even know what kind of things I said
My mouth kept moving and my mind went dead
Picking up those pieces now where to begin
The hardest part of ending is starting again

All I wanna do is trade this life for something new -
Holding on to what I haven’t got!!
           This is not the end
           This is not the beginning
Just a voice like a riot
           Rocking every revision
              - But you listen to the tone
                And the violent rhythm
               Though the words sound steady
               Something emptys within 'em...

We say yeah!                  With fists flying up in the air
Like we’re holding onto something that’s invisible there
Cuz we’re living at the mercy of the pain and the fear
Until we dead it -  forget it -
                                                        Let it all disappear...

Innocence Proven after 25 Years

Michael Morton freed Oct 4, 2011

“The prosecution’s complete disregard for the truth in this case is stunning,” said Nina Morrison, a Senior Staff Attorney with the Innocence Project.  “Rather than try to get to the bottom of what really happened, the prosecution went to great lengths to keep evidence pointing to Mr. Morton’s innocence from his lawyers..."
Such prosecutorial misconduct has been exposed in many other exonerations on all levels of convictions. The Death Penalty is too risky for us to keep in place. As responsible citizens in a civilized nation I hope we will all take action to spur the Legislature to enact legislation requiring open file discovery in every case.

(experts from the article at Innocence Project) :

"The prosecution’s complete disregard for the truth in this case is stunning,” said Nina Morrison, a Senior Staff Attorney with the Innocence Project.  “Rather than try to get to the bottom of what really happened, the prosecution went to great lengths to keep evidence pointing to Mr. Morton’s innocence from his lawyers, blatantly ignoring direct orders from the judge who conducted a review of the evidence. This case and the other tragic murder that might have been prevented if the leads had been investigated will hopefully spur the Legislature to enact legislation requiring open file discovery in every case.”

(Austin, TX – October 4, 2011) Michael Morton walked out of a Williamson County courtroom today after his 1987 murder conviction was overturned because of new DNA evidence pointing to another man.  Williamson County District Attorney John Bradley joined with the Innocence Project in seeking Morton’s release after it was discovered that the DNA of an unnamed male linked to the Morton crime through a bandana that also contained the blood of the victim was also found at the scene of a later murder in Travis County.  The unnamed male is now under investigation for both crimes.  Morton served nearly 25 years in prison before being released.

N.Y is working with laws to hold prosecutors in check:
http://m.nysenate.gov/legislation/bill/A2845-2011
Provides that if a prosecutor withholds information proving the innocence of an individual convicted of or charged with a crime, he or she shall be guilty of a felony with the term of imprisonment being twice that of the term of imprisonment the individual charged with the crime is faced with or twice that which the individual has been sentenced to.
