The Peace Journey to End the Death Penalty in WA State begins September 3, 2013

Kerry Lyn, Victoria & Lori , 1964

Hello friends, activists, and fellow compassionate beings wishing to create a peaceful world:
We are reaching out to all with this opportunity to participate in the Peace Journey happening here in WA state. It's purpose is to draw attention to the failure of the Death Penalty system; not only on the factual level, but as a tool to preserve our humanity it has only taken us further away...
This Journey is a walk/drive beginning from Spokane and traveling across the state to the final destination, Olympia. It begins on Sept. 3, walking out of Spokane, and will end on September 21st at the state capital.
The 21st is International Day Of Peace  http://www.internationaldayofpeace.org/ and the 2nd anniversary of the execution of Troy Davis.  http://www.cnn.com/2011/09/22/world/davis-world-reaction

(The Peace Journey  will travel  18 1/2 days, symbolizing Kerry Lyn's journey through the system, waiting on death row for her first appeal still; 18 1/2 years after being convicted in 1995. Her story and our goal for her exoneration will be carried with me on this walk.)  http://kerrylyndalton.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2010-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&updated-max=2011-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&max-results=4

The focus is on ending the Death Penalty with peaceful gatherings, walking in connection with Mother Earth, fellowshipping with folks along the way, and all held in line with compassion and respect for all beings.
You can be a part of this Journey in many different ways;
from walking with us the entire trip (the goal in miles is at least walking 185 of the 350+ trip),
to walking one day, or meeting us en route for a meal or evening or such,
supply us with contacts along the route for places to speak,
and of course we highly value your keeping this Journey in your hearts with positive thoughts going out to create as much good as possible from the efforts being extended!

The route will begin by heading to Cheney, Ritzville, then down towards Walla Walla, stopping in Tri-cities.
WA State Penitentiary is in Walla Walla, so we will be visiting the facility for a peaceful gathering to hold in our thoughts and words not only the 8 men on Death Row, but also all the residents of the prison, and all of the staff. There will be local community involved with the Journey and we plan to be in WW for two days. This is NOT a demonstration or protest, it is a gathering in support of compassion and respect for human life and dignity for every one. We are not against those employed at WSP, nor the penal system, rather we are in support of positive change which would benefit everyone.
From Walla Walla the Journey will head towards Yakima, up through Ellensburg, Cle Elum, over to North Bend, Issaquah, Seattle, Kent/Burien, Auburn/Federal Way/Des Moines, Tacoma, and landing in Olympia on day 18 1/2.

From Fellowship Of Peace, we thank you all for your caring hearts and desires for our peaceful world, and we look forward to experiencing this Journey with you!

Peace ~

Victoria, Corin, Adriel, Adam  (and on behalf of Kerry Lyn).

Fellowship Of Peace  is a non-profit foundation working to end the death penalty
Promoting peaceful approaches to supporting community unification, which combines the well being of the collective with the well being of the individual.”
Our Mission:  To promote worldwide peace through personal relationships based on compassion, acceptance, tolerance, inclusiveness, believing that every human being deserves to be respected, safe, honored, and loved equally.
The focus of Fellowship Of Peace is currently the transformation of our justice system into one of Restorative Justice; beginning with abolishing the Death Penalty in WA State, CA, and throughout the U.S.A.
We work with all other peace-minded individuals and organizations, especially for Death Penalty issues. We see that heart level change is the only way to create lasting peace, which happens at a deeper level than any government or laws can manifest. At the same time, we realize those changes will be displayed concretely in a compassionate government and laws which are based in restorative justice.

Details on Peace Journey Bracelets and Bookmarks:

Each Peace Journey Bracelet is beaded with the pattern to represent the 142 persons exonerated from Death Rows in the U.S.A. since 1972. (Explanation: a turquoise bracelet will have seven terra cotta beads spaced as 1 for one hundred, 4 for forty, and 2 = 142. The opposite for a terra cotta bracelet.)
**Indicate your choice of predominately turquoise or terra cotta beading.

An iridescent black Swarovski Crystal (6 mm) commemorates Troy Davis, who was executed Sept. 21st, 2011, although there were serious doubts about his actual guilt.

The pink Swarovski Crystal (6 mm) cut in butterfly shape represents Kerry Lyn Dalton’s hope for freedom; a wrongfully convicted woman still on Death Row after 18 ½ years. The tiny silver key charm reminds us that “the Truth shall set us free”

These beautiful handcrafted bracelets were strung with size 6/0 Toho beads, in Turquoise and Terra Cotta, on jewelry elastic for convenience and durability.

You also receive this fantastic bookmark with braided tassel, decorated with beads and tiny key charm. It has the reference of the facts your bracelet represents on one side, and the Hafiz poem on the other will inspire you to participate in honoring life. Each bookmark is individually handcrafted and laminated.
**One bookmark comes with each bracelet ordered.
